You have the relationship backwards. It’s the fetus who steels food from the mother, not the other way around. No one has the right to steal or use another persons body, even if their life depends on it. True, the fetus didn’t really have a choice, but they’re still taking from the mom. They’re not entitled to more human rights than others.

You haven’t responded to the 10 year old rape victim. If you think it’s reasonable for her to go through the trauma of childbirth that her body cannot handle, that is a blatant disregard for her life.

Or with Kate Cox. There was a complete lack of regard for her life or the baby she was carrying. Her baby had a 99.7% chance of dying a horribly painful death either right after birth, or within the first year. These deaths are of such infants are described as very painful and slow, taking weeks or months in extreme pain. but the procedure she was seeking would have ensured the fetus was not conscious and would not suffer pain, and would be done is less than two hours. Carrying the baby to term would most likely cause such damage to the mother she would not be able to have more children after. Forcing her to give birth would be a lose lose for both the mother and the baby. She wanted compassion, but was not granted it. No one was sure of exactly what point her life would be in danger, if she would just lose her internal organs or die. These things hang on a thread.

There’s also a blurry line of when a mother’s life is in danger. In my last pregnancy there at least two times when my life was at risk. Many women have traumatic births that with risky complications, and it’s not always clear if the mother will die or not, and under current laws doctors aren’t insured if they make these decisions. So they air on the side of caution and refuse to perform them. If a woman dies from a pregnancy, they can argue they wouldn’t have known how dire the situation was. If the woman gets an abortion and lives, they risk losing their ability to practice medicine and jail time. So it’s in their favor to let the mother die. This is insanity, because if the woman dies, so does the baby inside of her. The baby can’t live without the mother, so they both die.
If a woman wants to risk her life having a child, or go through a traumatic birth and take the permanent damage to her body, it should be her choice, with consultation of her body. Not a politician who has no understanding of the medical risks she is taking on.
Also, besides death, preeminent physical damage can be done to the mother. No person has the right to do severe damage to another’s body, and force horrific pain and possible trauma(childbirth), which is what you are arguing a fetus should have.
