Yeah, African American, Native American, Asian American, I would prefer European American, or Euro American as we say.

White does come up in context of racism, it is relevant there.

If there is a rule, that everyone has to follow, except white people (ie being called blank American) that kind of reeks of white privilege. Let's just call me European American.
