Well, they are strong female leads though. You got an undeniable point there.
Maybe the question is, what makes a feminist movie? I kind of think just having a strong female lead isn’t necessarily feminist. I mean there have been great female main characters in many things, I don’t think that makes it feminist, just some characters are feminist. I mean would wizard of oz be considered a feminist book? Dorothy was a strong female lead, I think that book was around before feminist was used as a term (suffragette though was around).
I think Barbie was definitely feminist because it really explored gender roles and gender ideals, and sexism.
