Ugh I am so tired of people saying something racists, fat phobic, or discriminatory all that back it up with their right to their preferences. Yes it’s of course perfectly fine to have preferences, but why on earth are so many peoples ‘preferences’ magically aligned with some sort of xenophobic concept. For example, some people just can’t stand dating fat people, it’s just their preference, it has nothing to do with a society that hates fat people. That just happens to be their preference and should be respected. It’s not that they think fat people are any lower than anyone else (massive eye roll). I’ve also heard “I just don’t date Asian men, it’s my preference, I don’t date black women, I don’t date trans women” all with the fragile snowflake of “don’t shame me for my preference.” Whatever, people can have their preferences, I just wish they’d examine where these preferences come from and make sure they aren’t being manipulated by a xenophobic agenda. Because that’s honestly often the case.
