This line reminds me of the song Amazing Grace. Not to ruin a lovely song, but the Hymn Amazing grace written by a slave trader, celebrating the fact that the grace of God had forgiven him from kidnapping Africans and selling them for profit. In his old age, after he was retired, in a lovely home furnished by the slave trade, he wrote that song celebrating the fact that he was now forgiven by God for all he had done. It's a beautiful song, but the history of it always made me sick.
