This is pretty false.
I don’t know if you realize it, but some of the things you quote here are misinformation and propaganda. You’re helping to spread lies by quoting it.
I live in a very liberal area and work at a private school that is inclusive of trans students. Probably about 1/5 of my students are trans. This whole idea that kids are on hormone and getting surgery is bs.
I’ve worked with hundreds of trans youth over the years, I’ve seen maybe two of them with medical interventions before the age of 18. Both cases it was puberty blockers and nothing else. You can’t really get HRT until you are at least 16, and even then it’s rare. Surgery is out of the question. Maybe there’s a kid somewhere who got it before the age of 18 but I’ve never heard of one.
Most kids just change their names, change their pronounce, and change their outfits. No ones is performing invasive surgeries on eight year olds.
The education these right wing people are freaking out about is more like lessons that say: don’t bully your friend Kira over here. Yes she went by Kyle last year and we called her he/him but she’s happier now going by Kira but that’s her right and it’s okay, that’s just how some people are and it’s fine. Now stop beating her up and calling her slurs, she’s a person too. These things are more to protect kids from being bullied, they aren’t trying to force kids to be trans or force and ideology onto them.
If you’re gonna write an article please avoid propaganda that tells lies.
