This is good.
I agree and I think you make an important point.
As oppressed people, I think it’s best to come to come together and collaborate. Not trans, but as someone who went years with a hidden, unlabeled disability, I have empathy for people who don’t fit in the rigid mold of life. I don’t like discrimination towards anyone.
I do see how comparing of treatment of a one minority helpful is personally having one’s own actions (would I say that to a black person because they’re black? No, best to keep my mouth shut then). But the level of comparison in the examples you provide sounds more like oppression Olympics where the oppressed act like jealous children competing with each other.
What the politician said about trans people and other groups is wrong period, he should be called out for hate, for hating multiple groups of people.
There are times when such comparisons are okay, but overall, let’s use extreme caution here.
