This.

I totally agree with this.

I think media, that really puts attractive women front and center. Even "normal" looking women in say family sitcoms are usually 8-9's. I think some men have a false sense of what an average attractive women is. When they see what they think is an average attractive women, she's really more like a 9 or 10 in comparison to most women. But they see her as average, because their fed images in the media of 10's being the norm. The truth is shows, adds, make more money when tailored to the male gaze. This his lead to the most beautiful women plastered everywhere to the point where people think it's the norm. Fat women, like myself, are seen as not actual women, and are thus invisible in this metric.

True, as a fat women, I do have my ample share of partners. However, I think some of these guys are going towards the top 15% of women, and are surprised when such women want the top 15% of men.

If you're attracted to someone you think is shallow, go fine someone else who isn't! Just because someone is super hot doesn't mean they are a good match for you. Most American women are at least overweight if not obese. Only the top 1% are these Victoria Secret models we've all been conditioned to believe is normal.

I think all of American society needs an honest wake up call of what an average women looks like. A super-hot bikini clad women is projected everywhere as the norm, and it's not. It's the top 1%. And this for-profit delusion has sadly contributed to the men loneliness epidemic.
