The coin can land on its side. Neither heads nor tails. I think there was a twilight episode about this very thing. Coins can land on heads, tails, or their sides, this is because we exist in 3 different special dimensions. It may seem sometimes like we only live in two dimensions, but really there is a third, and even a fourth. The coin has a thickness as well as two sides, giving it 3 sides. People, also live in more than two dimensions. There are more dimensions to people then just male and female, just like the coin. Appropriate metaphor indeed. There appear to only be two sides, but there are actually more than two. :)
