Thanks for your insightful response!

Your insights now just make me wanna discuss chasers. I’m a kind of freaked out/really confused by chasers, and their contradictory love/feticization and trans phobia. There is a writer here on medium that I followed for a while, that wrote about cis/trans relationships. I followed him because my partner was trans and at the time I was interested in learning how to be a good ally to her. But then I realized it was essentially a publication for chasers, specifically straight men chasing trans women. He had such a sea of words and positivity that it was hard to figure out wtf he was talking about. But ultimately when I dug, I found there were several core beliefs that he had I disagreed with, and ultimately might be trans phobic. Yet he kept professing his love of trans women, constantly. It was very strange. Can you truly love a trans person while holding onto some transphobic beliefs? I knew the fundamental beliefs he has would offend and annoy my partner, who is trans, so it all makes me fucking confused. He now happily writes about how he found his new trans girlfriend. He seems to try to be a nice chaser, but it’s just so weird to me.
