So interesting Poppy!
Growing up, I always struggled with doing almost everything. My teachers would give me these reports where they talked about all the areas I struggled in. But then would end with saying that I was “very creative.” For most of my life, I thought that calling someone creative was something you said when you wanted to find something nice to say about them but they had no good qualities. It wasn’t until well into adult life that I learned that I was actually considered a valuable employee because my creativity had solved several problems others hadn’t been able to deal with. I was floored.
The fact that this man felt the need to say “I’m creative and you’re not” is insane. As a “creative person” I’ve never felt the need to put down other people or tell someone they’re not creative. That’s stupid. There’s no point to that! Truly insecure guy.
Btw, what was the point of putting a pin in a sponge? Did he need a pin cushion? Did he think it was art? Was he going to use it to tell a story about a person who looks like a pin floating on a blue ocean that is the sponge? Or did he just do the entire weird thing for the sake of trying to make himself look “creative?” Very strange.
