Re: "... Overall, there is than .3 percent chance Kate’s baby will live..." - This is truly tragic. I do not see this alone as a reason not to do ones best.

- Except it comes at the risk of her safety and her fertility. She and her family are doing their best. It's totally heartless that you think somehow she's not doing her best here.

Re: "... she wants to spare her child a painful death..." - Do do you expect the abortion to be painless?

I don't know if abortion is painless or not. But dying a slow death over a period as long as long as two years from organ failure, will undoubtably be more painful than the max 3 hour procedure. We don't know if abortion is painful or not, but slowly dying from organ failure as a newborn, I can guarantee you is very painful.

Re: "... her health is at serious risk..." - As I have already written. The life of the mother is valid reason for an abortion.Re: "... Are you an obgyn doctor... etc. ..." - Did I claim to be?

-No, but you are acting like it. You're making claims about healthcare you don't understand, and acting like serious decisions in the medicine and healthcare should be made based on your principles, rather than sound medical advice as well as the people having to suffer the consequences. It's women and children that will have to suffer the consequences of pregnancy and abortion, it will never effect you. I am astounded that you believe others should have to suffer for your principles while you never will.

Re: "... Pregnancy is very dangerous, women and babies die from it... " - Maternal mortality is in the order of 30 per 100000 live births in the US, i.e. 0.03%. The overall abortion rate is 200 per 1000 live births, i.e. 20%. It would appear that the risk of death during pregnancy cannot explain or justify the abortion rate.

- this is literally because abortion is legal in most places. Get rid of abortion, and this will go up. It's circular reasoning to assume that the fact that abortion saves lives is an excuse to reduce it.

And I'm sorry, 30 in 100000 live births is still a lot. Plus, there are many other serious consequences, health or otherwise to pregnancy. Many women such as myself survive with permanent severe health consequences.

I am glad you have your principles, but they are all about how other people should live their lives. You haven't, and never will walk a mile in their shoes. Stop expecting everyone to live life like you have and have to bear the burden for your beliefs, when you never will.
