My girlfriend works in tech. When she got Covid, they told her it wasn’t a big deal and pushed her to keep working, they acted like her having 2 days off was insane. A month later her male colleague got Covid, he was given an entire week off, no question. It was explained he has a serious illness (Covid) and needed the team (her) to step up and cover for him.
When we had our daughter, they “gave her” two weeks of for maternity leave. She was entitled to more, but didn’t push it as she felt they would retaliate. When her male colleague had a child, he got six weeks off paid for paternity leave, no questions asked, it was just offered.
