Exactly! Less than 9% of the prodecures done at planned parenthood are for abortions. The rest are for other health matters, including men's health.

When I was 18 I became sexually active for the first time. I needed birth control fast. If I had seen my regular doctor it would have shown up on my insurance and my parents would have known, which I wasn't comfortable with. And anyway, the soonest I could get an appointment was 3 weeks out.

Instead I called planned parenthood, and was seen that week. I talked to them about different birth control options and eventually settled on the depo shot. I made an appointment for 3 days laters. They gave me a bag of condoms to make sure I was safe in-between and until the shot took affect. They were a life saver. Getting access to birth control as a young person can be hard, even though I was a legal adult. There were so many hoops to jump through, and I wasn't comfortable with my parents finding out. They helped me get my shot and helped me get protection. Very few of their services are abortions, they help with so many other things. Eventually I was able to see my own doctor for birth control. One day though there was a scheduling mix-up and my doctor canceled my appointment the night before, telling me they were to busy and couldn't see me for another 6 weeks. By then my depo shot would have long expired. So I went back to planned parenthood that very day and they were able to give me shot in time. They provide great services. The fact that people harass others outside of them is terrible.

Planned Parenthood gave me the resources to take responsibility for my reproductive health and not need an abortion. They help reduce abortions more than they perform them.
