J.K. Rowling in undisputedly a better writer than me. That is 100% fact. The woman is a very successful author, while I am just some person on medium. It should be noted that I am in no way in competition with her, writing or otherwise.

However, being a good author does not make someone more knowledgable on trans issues. Being a great writer does not also make her better at repairing cars (unless maybe that what she writes about). Nor does being a good author make her an expert about the workings of one's lungs.

My essay is pointing out the fact that her writing and successful career writing does not make her understand trans issues any better than anyone else and there's no reason to listen to her opinions on that.
