I've had so many job interviews, where they would literally tell me I had the job, and they'll contact me Monday with the details, only to be ghosted. One place I just kept calling for 6 months, twice a week every week. Finally they picked up and thanked me for my interest by they had found someone new.

One place ghosted me and I contacted them and they eventually hired me when they were desperate. It turned out to be a great match and I loved working there and I was one of their star employees.

I really think employers need to treat perspective employees better. Just because I'm interested in working with a company and think we'd make a great match doesn't mean it's okay to treat me like shit; by ghosting, being late, ignoring, not returning phone calls or straight up lying. Perspective employees often come with excellent skills, experience, and many opportunities. Just because someone is interested in working at a company doesn't mean we're desperate or can be treated badly. We may be that one hard to find employee you were looking form.

I had one job with multiple interviews where my interviewer was over an hour late. At the interview she lectured me on the importance of being on time, and made it clear she doubted my ability to show up to work on time. This was crazy because I am very punctual, and it was her that was late. When the next interviewee showed up and questioned why we were over (due to her being late) she held it against me and used it as an opportunity to lecture me on the importance of being on time (projection anyone?)

I had one job interview where I really liked the place, the job, and most of the staff. But one person there interrogated and insulted me so much, I later went to the senior manager and told him I just wasn't interested any more. You're not just vetting to see if an employee is a good fit, you're also building a relationship with a future colleague.

Not only that, you and your network are potential clients for this app. Don't be cruel to your demographic just because you like their work but won't hire them.
