It’s so interesting. I’ve had some Asian male friends tell me about the concept of society feminizing Asian males. Asian women are fetishized as submissive and quiet, while Asian men are often considered unthreatening, nerdy, and polite. It’s a very real thing, but since they are considered a model minority their stereotypes become invisible, which is oppression. Ignoring racism and pretending it’s not there is gaslighting.
I’m really glad you wrote this article calling out this racism, we need more articles writing about this.
