It was so validating reading this. I spent 19 years in a monogamous relationship with a man, but knew I liked women. Everyone doubted my queerness, I mean I had not been with an actual woman. But that’s because I was faithful and monogamous, which made people doubt me even more. Yes, bi people are capable of monogamy.
Now that I’m divorced, I have to say, I like sex with women more than with men. At this point, I’m wondering if I’m actually a lesbian who just succumbed to compulsorily heterosexuality.
The first time I slept with a woman, she told me “You fuck like a lesbian” and in all honesty, lesbian sex feels way more natural and normal than hetero ever did. Yes, I was a faithful partner for 19 years, but that didn’t make me any less attracted to women. Ones sexual orientation shouldn’t be questioned just because we aren’t having sex with someone.
Great article!
