Interesting! I literally just tried this just now and got the same results. Perhaps Upsplash has some transphobia (as well at fat phobia) built into it. Either way, please know this picture does not look like a trans woman for the following reasons:
1) this person looks AFAB (assigned female at birth) someone who was raised a girl, while trans women are usually assigned male at birth.
2) 2nd of all, this person is presenting very masculine. Now I do know some trans women who aren’t super femme, i even know a couple butch lesbians who are also trans, but most trans women present in ways to convey they are women. This person looks more non-binary than a woman. This person may be trans, but has about a much to do with a trans woman as a cactus (very beautiful) does with a daisy.
3) the commentary below communicated it’s a picture about a plus size something. This weirdly equated being plus sized with being plus sized, and there’s no evidence of this happening. Honestly most of the trans women I know are taller and slimmer, and possibly their upper arm and back strength sneaks out a bit. It sort of just equates trans women with fat people, two groups that are generally hated, and lumps them together via association of people looking down on them.
Now clearly, it sounds like you don’t know this and upsplash just made a very rude, very biased error. Sorry that happened Maria. I suggest consider changing the photo, it adds an heavy element of fat-phobia and trans awareness phobia to your article, and I don’t think you intended that. There are other pics on upsplash that show actual trans women, or just regular women with the trans flag somewhere. That may be more appropriate. This one isnt of a trans woman and it’s hurting your article.
