I worked in reatil for years, and my former partner worked in management. I now make way more money than he ever did in retail, and I honestely feel that while I have a very demanding job, it was not nearly as awful as retail managment. Retail managmeent is awful, my former husband was verbally abused reguarly, and he made 1/4 of what I made now. No, retail managment is not worth it. That being said, I would of course jump at any opporutnity to make more money. We don't the situatution of that particular retail store and what was happening. Often managers in retail are forced to work off the clock for long hours, as I have seen, without pay. I've known both male and female retail managers, and every time the male was paid more, and the females were expected to work off the clock more than the male, bassed off of my own experience in retail. I do feel women are more likely to be abused and taken advantage of in workplace situattions, so it makes sense women would be more cautions about a position where they can be forced to work off the clock as in retail. I've seen it many times.
