I think you’ve brought up a real serious issue here in society. Back in the day there were clubs men went to, like elk clubs and mens clubs etc. Men very much need groups or social structures where they can be together and feel comradeship. Right now the closest they have are sports teams, but not all men are athletic and want to play sports together. Patriarchy is very toxic to men and it shamed for them for having normal human emotions, asking for help, or admitting vulnerabilities. I do think men need a community to get together and feel connected to each other. I think the red pill does that for men, but it’s very toxic and it’s messages makes things worse. I’ve had red pill men come up to me, and tell me all about my thoughts and feelings as a woman, who I want to date and how I want to date, and then shut me down. None of their assumptions about be were anywhere near correct, and it was a story they had told themselves about me, that they would never leave behind. This of course just made me want to avoid the duck out of them. Who likes having a stranger impose a totally false identity on you and then yell at you for having it? Women are not a monolith.
Most preschool teachers are women, in part because people pay preschool teachers very badly. Despite the science and research around early childhood development, people consider it an easy low-effort job and assume it doesn’t take much skill or knowledge. In fact people often carry this attitude towards teaching in general. Then it’s assumed that women should do these roles because were assumed to be natural nurturers and not the educated professionals that teachers are. It’s truly sexism that keeps this system in play.
I graduated from a prestigious university with a degree in mathematics, and no matter how many different jobs I went for, I was constantly pushed into education. True I do excel at teaching, but the attitude was “Hey so your smart and a woman? You should be teaching! Think of all the kids you’ll help! You can use all that advance knowledge to help the next generation! Perfect!”
Literally education was the field I was pushed into, despite my male classmates who are working in industry.
We expect women to be the only ones teaching so we can pay them less and treat them bad, then we don’t have enough male teachers. This creates a problem. Getting rid of the low pay and sexism in education would improve education for everyone, including these lost boys who struggle finding role models.
