I think that’s a fair point, and I think the comparison to queer people gatekeepers is very valid.
I think perhaps my own trauma of being othered (via my autism) is speaking from a defensive, emotional place and not necessarily logical. I have a lot of PTSD from the friction caused from my autistic true self and expectations of the world around me. I am working on healing through it, however such trauma leaves me in a vulnerable place where I am open to being exclusionary and even hateful. I think about Germany was really suffering after WWI which made the people more susceptible to the hate that enveloped in WW2.
So thanks for engaging with me. I see now my previous comment was from a place of defense not actual critical thinking.
