I saw these couples all the time when I was on these apps. As a bi poly woman, they were 30% of my feed. One couple literally wrote “we’re here on vacation and we’d like a hot girl for the weekend” as if I were a tourist attraction.
I read a profile of another bi woman who said it best “if you’re looking for a unicorn for a three-some, do yourself a favor, hire an escort. Bisexual women are not your play things.”
That would certainly apply to the above couple who wanted a “hot girl for the weekend”.
In ethical triads, there are four relationships going on. With unicorns, there are two, the couple with each other, and they with the unicorn.
In ethical triads, each partner has equal standing in the relationship, in unicorn triads, the couple has their veto privilege and will “fire” the unicorn when they feel things have gotten out of hand. They treat the unicorn like and employe there to fit a role rather than a romantic partner they care about. In unicorns, their personal adds read as job descriptions looking for someone to fit a role rather than organically developing relationships.
If a couple wants a three some, hire an escort, that’s what they’re really looking for, a beautiful woman willing to do what they want sexually. If you want a relationship with three people, develop one slowly and actually care about the third.
