I remember having an awful history teacher in high school who told me there were “3 races of people, white, black and ‘mongloid’ .” I remember thinking that made no sense, so I asked about native Americans and he classified them as the later. I was appalled and told him so. I then asked about people from the Middle East, and he said the same thing. Ironically the same teacher called me racist when I kept questioning him. I don’t know anyone who identifies as ‘mongloid’, not even Mongolian people.

There is this weird awful lumping of everyone not white together and it’s weird. Like the category of me’s and not me’s from a white persons perspective.
