I needed to hear this, thanks.
One time here in medium, a guy responded to one of my articles by telling me I was wrong, it was a scientific fact. I asked him to show proof or cite references of why I was wrong, he responded with “Google it.” I linked an article from The Mayo Clinic that showed multiple peer reviewed studies backing up what I said, he responded with “The Mayo Clinic isn’t a credible resource.” News to me, it’s been well respected for decades. He then told me to get educated and learn some basic science. He also told me I needed to read his articles in order to do that. I looked at his articles and they were all rather hate-filled and circular reasoning. I told him I didn’t find his articles helpful and he blocked me.

True, in regards to other comments, I have seen both men and women use pseudoscience. I think this article is highlighting how it’s often used to justify misogynistic thinking, which does happen.
