I liked this article, but I’m genuinely curious about the nursing thing. My sister is a nurse, and it’s a very hard job. Nursing school was very difficult and she spends her 12–16 hour days on her feet giving medical care to sick people.
Is it because it was a career associated with being a female for so long? Was it considered girly? I’m tots lost.
It’s a science heavy career that is brutal and demanding, and very necessary. There are serious problems due to a lack of nurses in our society. I’m curious why this is a red flag? The others I can see for sure…but this is an important career that literally saves lives. There’s nothing glamours wearing scrubs for 12+ hours and treating sick people, dealing with their bodily fluids, IVs, and potentially crazy personalities.
