I honestly thought this was satire when I saw the title.
I’m glad you wrote this, it needs to be said. I’ve heard a number of old men complain that they bought themselves a nice, young, beautiful wife, only to be left because she was after their money. Well, yeah.
Why would a person think that a another beautiful person 20+ years younger than him, wants anything else?

It’s strange because some men seem to flaunt that because they have money they can get beautiful women. I see older rich men be like proud of this, but don’t they know those women are into their money, not them? Do they know but prefer to be in denial because they enjoy the sex so much? This is an example of rich, white, male, privilege, being used to get vulnerable, impoverished girls, and then it comes back to bite them in the ass. Yes, these women are after money. That is to be expected. Such men are often proud that their wealth and status got them these girls, and even aw knowledge the transactional nature of somehow buying a beauty. But are somehow shocked when they realize these women are into the money. That was the deal. If you want real love, go for someone who is in a similar situation than you, who doesnt need your money to live and can love you for who you are. Forgoing the young eye candy for someone who is more your age will result in someone who is able to actually fall in love with you. Going for the young eye candy ensures you’re nothing but a dollar sign to them. If that’s what you want, that’s fine. But don’t act surprised if they aren’t actually in love with you, and they take your money. That was the arrangement from the beginning.

They key to love is not going for the shiny package, it’s all surface, go for someone who can love you back. Expecting someone who is young, perfect, beautiful, and not into your money, to be fall in love with you is unrealistic, no matter how wonderful you are. No amount of white male privilege entitles someone to a 21 year old wife with a perfect body who sees you for who you are and loves only you and doesn’t care about your body. I know there are some, but the level of inequity is so strong in such an arrangement that it’s not sustainable. Hugh Hefner is old, and his girls all have boyfriends on the side. They are there for the money and status, they don’t love him. You can enjoy it for the sex, and that’s fine, but don’t expect their actual hearts.
