I have lipedema, a condition that has a huge impact on my life, and is actually very common among women. 11% of us have this condition. It’s been known about for nearly 100 years. However there is a total lack of research, lack of awareness, and lack of diagnosis, lack of treatment options, and no insurance covers treatment options. Simply put, it’s rare for men to have this disease, and it’s easier to victim blame us (patients with this disease) as fat and lazy women. Something need to be done about it.
