I gotta say, I keep seeing adds for this series, and it absolutely gives me the cringes.
I don't see anything entertaining about having a stalker. Stalkers are scary AF, and I feel like the trailers make it out to be some sort of harmless funny cute thing. It's not talking the stalker seriously as a scary person, because she's a fat older woman. The whole things feels fat phobic, sexist, and underestimates the dangers of stalking. Women can be just as scary as men, and a woman stalking a man is just as scary as a man stalking a woman. Not taking Martha seriously as s stalker is further heightened by the fact she is fat, people often think fat people are stupid, and thus harmless.
I like your analysis however, I had no idea there was a trans character involved and specifically in a relationship with a cis man. We haven't seen many of those in films, and when they are, they're often portrayed terrible, as in the crying game, which is just horrific. I do like that they are portraying dating trans people as a normal occurrence. I like that you mention the empathy aspect of a minority/oppressed relationship, the fat phobia, and other aspects in the series.
