I did read that book. and loved parts of it.

I also found the book very, very sexist. It wasn't overt, but it was pretty clear women were there to help the heroes, not ever be one. I did find the Baron to be homophobic, Ewe. He was very ewe, and one dimensional. It did a great job of building worlds, but it did fee like Herbert had a very limited, narrow, view of the world, and there was room for no one else. It's nice to visit other worlds, it was nice to read that book, but he will probably never visit another.
