I am a teacher, while I don't have a PHD, many of my colleagues do. News flash, teachers are actually quite educated, professional, people. We aren't always treated well, but our job is vital, and it's hard. We work hard to do something that is badly needed. Teachers are important, and we do make a difference in this world. We have our various reason for being teachers, but it's actually a very challenging job that requires a lot of training, a lot expertise, and a lot of talent. I know you value someone working a gas station more than us, but I guarantee he didn't have to pass the same number of tests and programs we did to get into our jobs.
So, a teacher's safety is threatened by her students bringing guns to school, and also not wearing masks, and also being in Texas, so she quit. As a teacher, I have actually had a school shooting at my school while teaching (a gun was brought to school and discharged, no one was hurt but we had to go into lock down for several hours as there was an active shooter running around). It was scary AF. We literally have regular drills for active shooters because as teachers we risk being killed by gun violence. Now I wouldn't want to teach in Texas either, they aren't very nice to teachers there. But teaching is a very difficult and important job, can we all stop shitting on teachers? It's not an easy career, and we literally are in serious safety risks here. The fact that the teacher in question teaches online is no consequence either. I literally have worked with teachers who had students stalk them outside of work and threaten them and their families, with weapons too.
Your writing style is quite funny, in a good way. But please stop hatting on teachers who get burned out. It's not an easy job at all, and I can understand it being a profession that literally kills someone.
