Great article. I learned some things:
I would add that as a white person I’m less likely to get murdered during a routine traffic stop, or murdered in general by the police for any reason.
As a white person I can join the NRA and own a gun and fight for that right, while black people are ignored by the NRA and gun ownership is used as an excise to murder them.
As a white person I am less likely to be discriminated against in the classroom by my teacher. Teachers (I am one myself) often carry subconscious prejudices and don’t even realize it, but it negatively impacts their students. I have had more access to education than black people.
As a white person when I talk about an important issue, people don’t label me as “angry” and then ignore me when I am passionate about something.
