Great Article.
I am cis-woman who wears mostly skirts and dresses, due to sensory issues. But I also LOVE SKIRTS. If I was assigned male at birth, I think I would have eventually said "F this, I want to wear one of those lovely skirts." I love skirts.
In high school while on a week-long school trip, I saw what appeared to be a boy my age wearing a long flowery skirt, just like the ones I loved to wear.
I WAS SMITTEN. I lacked a lot of social skills, but secretly followed him around trying to get up the nerve to ask him out. But soon I realized he had a beautiful girlfriend. I backed off, but I still remember his beautiful, flowey, floral skirt and how attractive he was in it.
People of all genders look amazing in skirts. Let the skirt be reclaimed by men, and anyone else who damn well wants to wear one. Skirts for as many people who want them. I'm not against people wearing pants. Pants are great too, and many people were denied them. My mom always had those stories of having to walk to school, in the snow, in a dress because girls weren't allowed to wear pants. Let those days be gone. Let's just stop policing what people wear, and instead start enjoying what people wear. I enjoyed the photos of you in your lovely skirts.
