Great article!
I agree.
I am a woman, and a feminist, and white.
My father has been a wonderful person in my life, and if it weren't for him I wouldn't be the person I am. My father gave a lot to give me the best life he could, and I will never forget that.
I am forever grateful to my father for all that he gave me in my life.
Yes, Serena and Venus are very gifted, hardworking, and amazing women, that is undesputable. It's okay that there were others who helped them. Just because we are feminists, doesn't mean we have to be super women and that we can't have help, and express gratitude and recognition to all those who helped up grow and become the people we are.
A father who raises two amazing daughters, that does sounds like a great feminism narrative to me. That Men can be wonderful supports to women. That's wonderful. Why not have the men behind the women narrative too?
Thank you for voicing this and making it okay. <3
