Good article! I would add we also need to stop policing the identities of the disabled.
A lot of people have invisible disabilities that are not apparent to others, but are still very disabling.
I read another story here on medium about a woman who can't walk using a riding cart at Walmart while another customer followed her around harassing and attacking her and accusing of her not having a disabilities but just being "fat" and too lazy to use walk. I've seen other stories where people who are disabled have been harassed using disabled parking spots by those who assume they aren't disabled and asking for straight up proof of this disability as if it was their job and they are literally the disability police. Why total strangers beleive they are in a position to judge someone else's baldness is a mystery, but none the less quite horrific.
