As one of the many, many women named Sarah, I decided to give my daughter a unique name, but hopefully not to alien. I named her Marigold, rare (hippy?) we call her Mary for short, which at one point was the most common name. I hated being one of the four Sarahs. It was cool meeting other people with my name, at times they get like sisters. But damn I sure do feel basic. I do fear that my name will literally become a slur, with Karen, Becky (my middle name is Rebecca). Also robots lent to serve people
Such as Alexa and Siri have female names. I do not want to become a slur, or a robot. I’m glad names are a little more unique, but maybe we’re going a bit to far here.
