As a woman with lipedema, I find these larger body influencers really brave and helpful.
Ever since puberty, I've been told that my body is ugly, unhealthy, and unacceptable, and I need to be more healthy. I eat very healthy and exercise, I have a healthy lifestyle, yet people look at my body and assume I eat junk all day.
Although approximately 11% of women have lipedema, no one tells us about it and it’s just assumed we are fat and lazy, when there is a very real medical and hormonal reasons behind why women like me are fat, that has nothing to do with life style, and can’t be reversed.

I think it's brave these women are showing bodies that look like mine. They make people who look like me more acceptable, and show fat isn't nessearily unhealthy. Maybe they are doing it for themselves, for their own insecurities, but I like to think they are also doing it for women like me. I can't help that my body is this large, I have done everything to slow my lipedema, but it's there and I constantly get messages that I am less than because of it.
I'm curious though, why do you care? I honestly didn't even know these women existed, and I am pretty happy they do. Where did you find them? Why are looking and writing about them if you disagree with their stories? Is it flooding your instagram and you can't help but see it and it's annoying you? Is it a personal thing where they are embracing their sizes? Are you tired of looking at half-naked bodies?
