As a fellow autistic woman this really relates to me. I LOVE one on one conversations with people. One of my closest friends really struggled accepting that I’m autistic because she was so impressed with our in-depth reflective conversations. She was conditioned to believe that autistic are lacking in empathy, which I clearly am not, or unable to have such close relationships. What’s much harder for me is being in a large group with multiple friends, but I’ve improved over the years. But it’s so much more interesting to have those one on one conversations where I can listen and really listen to my friend and try to understand what she’s going through.
