A friend of mine affirms her daughters gender. I once tried to tell her I thought that was awesome. Her response was
“Seriously? You think that’s good? That’s the bare minimum, anything else would be abuse. Did you just congratulate me for not abusing my own child?”

It really made me think. It makes me sad, how low the bar is for caring for trans kids.
